If you are looking for a sailing course which involves dinghies and catamarans, then the RYA has plenty to offer. Below is a list of RYA sailing courses that are available:
- Level 1 Start Sailing - The basic 2 day course with no experience needed. Learn how to sail small dinghies plus launching and recovery.
- Level 2 Basic Skills - Level 1 certificate needed or ability to level 1 before the course can commence. The foundations of sailing are taught in this course allowing the pupil to sail in light winds competently. 2 day sailing course
- Seamanship skills - Level 2 needed or sailing skills to that ability. This 2 day course encompasses improving sailing skills to be able to handle a wider range of conditions and situations while out on the water.
- Day Sailing - Skills of level 2 needed. This is a sailing course geared towards planning a days sailing in a small boat. The 2 day includes dealing with adverse conditions.
- Sailing with Spinnakers - Again skills of level 2 are needed for this course. The 2 day course will assist in teaching the pupil the skills to rig and use a assymetric and conventional spinnaker.
- Performance Sailing - Experience of a full seasons sailing and ability of at least level 2 sailing. This RYA sailing course is a step up to performance dinghy sailing, usually with spinnakers. Catamarans are often used on this 2 day course. The aim is to improve handling and boat handling in faster craft.
- Start Racing - This 2 day course is for those with sailing experience who would like to get into dinghy or multihull racing. The sailing course will prepare the pupil for club racing.
- Intermediate Racing - This 5 day RYA sailing course is geared at club racers looking to improve their boat handling, boat speed, tackticks and strategy so they can move up the fleet.
- Advanced Racing - Class specific course of 5 days for those pushing towards the front of the fleet at regional level.
